CHOOSE YOUR DEFENSE
At Renzo Gracie Pocono we offer classes in two styles of fighting: Judo, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Judo, born in Japan, was established by combining Jiu-jitsu, a form of wrestling, with mental discipline. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling-based martial art, whose central theme is the skill of controlling a resisting opponent in ways that force him/her to submit. Our team has decades of practice, experience, and competition in Judo, and BJJ. Our team of experienced fighters will prepare you for defense in any situation. We will help you become the best you!

"I joined Renzo Gracie Pocono looking for an activity that would help me get in better shape. The low impact workout matched with high resistance was perfect and the fun environment makes it even better. I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep up, but the incremental development and hands-on learning has relieved me of my apprehensions. Training at RGP has given me a sense of community while helping me work on my self-improvement goals. I truly appreaciate the goodwill amongst my training partners."

"I joined Renzo Gracie Pocono to learn self defense. I was very excited to try it out after being encouraged by my father months prior. My first class was very fun, however I was discouraged because I wasn't as good as the others in the class. Professor Edwin quickly changed this with his encouragement and dedication towards helping me train. Jiu Jitsu has now become my favorite thing to do! It really has made me more confident, all while making me more outgoing, and calmer in stressful situations. I love the safe environment and the family at Renzo Gracie Pocono!"

"Grappling pushes me unlike anything else. There are really no workouts even close! It undoubtedly will burn fat and increase cardio. The emphasis on precise technique is huge here and our professor coming from a Gracie-taught school only solidifies that you are going to get authentic BJJ instruction. I am very proud to be a part of this academy, and cannot express enough what it has done for me and the others that attend. I encourage everyone to come in and see what Renzo Gracie Pocono has to offer."

"From the first class I participated in, I felt welcomed and a part of the team. Since joining, I've lost 15lbs; my clothes fit better, and I feel the best I have in years. My cardiologist asked what I've been doing, because my blood pressure has been the lowest in two years. Professor Edwin provides excellent instruction and encouragement no matter how far you've come in training. Renzo Gracie Pocono offers the best instruction in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, and Muay Thai for all ages and experience levels! "

I joined Renzo Gracie Pocono to become more physically fit and active. I was nervous before my first class because I wasn’t certain I would enjoy it, but after, I knew I would be back. The students, and professor were very welcoming, and involved me as if I had been coming for months. In my first class I learned a lot, and I knew I would be back! RGP has helped me become more focused in school, disciplined with my time, and much more physically fit. I also have much more confidence in myself. I love the people and the relaxed learning environment at Renzo Gracie Pocono. The professor always encourages and never puts students down. It is truly like a family. I wouldn’t change a thing.

I joined RGP because I was looking for a gym closer than where I had been. I wasn’t sure about it at first because I didn’t know Professor Edwin personally and so I had no clue if he was a good instructor or not. After my first class I was certain that Professor Ed knew what he was doing, and was very good at it. Personally I enjoy the mats and the cleanliness of the facility. Renzo Gracie Pocono has allowed me to get proficient in grappling and has helped me toward my goal of winning championships. Everyday at RGP is a step closer toward achieving my goal of being the best in the world.
